Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar (14 April 1891 – 6 December 1956), popularly known as Baba Saheb, was an Indian jurist, economist, politician and social reformer who inspired the Dalit Movement and campaigned against social discrimination against Untouchables (Dalits), while also supporting the rights of women and labour.
Dr.Ambedkar was Independent India's first law minister and the principal architect of the Constitution of India.
Dr.Ambedkar was a prolific student, earning doctorates in economics from both Columbia University and the London School of Economics, and gained a reputation as a scholar for his research in law, economics and political science. In his early career he was an economist, professor, and lawyer. His later life was marked by his political activities; he became involved in campaigning and negotiations for India's independence, publishing journals, advocating political rights and social freedom for Dalits, and contributing significantly to the establishment of the state of India.
In 1956 he converted to Buddhism, initiating mass conversions of Dalits because Dalits were refused equal human rights in Hindu Community and his fights for long time didn’t yield the expected results from our own society and government setup. He chose Buddhism because he strongly felt Buddhism provides equal rights barring castes.
In 1990, the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award, was posthumously conferred upon Ambedkar. Ambedkar's legacy includes numerous memorials and depictions in popular culture.
His efforts to eradicate un-touch ability and the caste system were phenomenal.
It was he who changed the working hours in India from 14 to 8 hours.
This visionary’s birthday is celebrated every year as Ambedkar Jayanti “World Equality Day”
He is just not a leader of Dalits but for all people of India. He fought for Dalits to get equal rights within Hindu religion as they were treated badly. He wanted Dalits to raise which caused to know him as Dalit Leader. But he is actually a national leader equal or more than equal to leaders like Mahthma Gandhi.
Our goal is to get the reality of his national leadership to the public as he is the “Hero Of India”
The highest count of statues in the world are for Dr.Ambedkar and not for any other leader.
World leaders like Obama, Trump, Narendra Modi and icons like Jocky Chan have high regards for Dr. Ambedar and quoted respectable comments in the recent days.
The popularity of Dr.Ambedkar is raising day by day as people are realizing the services Dr.Ambedkar offered to Government, society and all people and the services are always active in India because he is the one who wrote the constituency of India. In many parts of India, Dr.Ambedkar is being worshiped as "GOD"
